The study revealed that compared to normal breathing, slow breathing reduces pain intensity and unpleasantness as well as negative emotion.

Let’s give it a try: Inhale gently through your nose for a count of 4 imagining a balloon completely filling up, as your diaphragm gently pushes downward.

Hold your breath for 4 counts

Exhale slowly allowing the air to flow out of your mouth. Do not force it. Exhale while counting to 10.

Repeat this breathing exercise 5 times. You should feel much more relaxed. If you don’t, continue another 5 times.
